Greetings! This is the most exciting part of this website! When I returned from my 3 year Air Force tour in Japan I had made a promise to myself to do whatever I could do for those less fortunate than myself, mostly because of the way I saw my fellow man come together while serving in the military. I started right away by getting some phone numbers of some old friends. Some of the first words out my mouth when talking to people I had not talked to in a long time were "Got any coats?" and to see who was doing what for Thankgiving 2007...I found a place to feed the Elderly here in Denver and started asking around to see if I could get some friends to help. There was a resounding YES! but with very short notice many could not help us on Thanksgiving day. So we came up with the idea to collect some coats to bring downtown to the 'Triangle' (a place where the homeless gather in Downtown Denver)
In just over two weeks my friends, family and coworkers had collected about 100 jackets for men, women and children. And more kept coming in. You can read and see the slideshow below of our very first event.
We gave out donated Coats and Food to the homeless in downtown Denver on Thanksgiving, 2007. We went back with a smaller amount of coats and some socks on Christmas 2007 as well. The first two of two events took place last year and many, many more to come...
